RESEARCH
Science and innovation play pivotal roles in ensuring the security and sustainability of modern society. Starting from hostile external actions against the population and democracy, up to the rise of natural disasters due to climate change, the challenges are growing. Civil security can gain significant advantage from new technologies like UAVs, VR, AI and advanced sensor technologies to handle these challenges. However, to enroll the full potential of technology in favor of society and security, not only the technology is needed. Economic research has proven, we are not lacking the skills and creativity for excellent solutions in Germany. The weak spot is the transfer from idea and prototype to the market and the application. Universities focussed for many years in teaching young talents B2C and B2B business knowledge. The SBT Research Group supports young talents to work successfully in the environment of those, who take action, when society is at risk: the government and non-profit-organizations. The declared aim of this research group is to support technology driven solutions to security issues, to bring these solutions into the market and connect our students, alumni and researchers with the relevant industry.
PARTNERS
The research group is open for partners that match the criteria of the Directive on the funding of projects on the topic of "Applications in civil security" as part of the Federal Government's "Research for civil security - Together for a secure life in a resilient society" program, by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research Federal Gazette of 24.06.2024 or the Central Innovation Programme for SMEs (ZIM) by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action. We are open for technology driven ideas and projects in the field of security that require technical and business support.
